The REIA Annual Conference 2026 took place in Frankfurt from 9–11 June and brought together stakeholders from across the rare earth value chain, including industry, research, policy and end-user sectors. The conference covered a range of topics, including supply chain resilience, sustainability, innovation, market developments and the role of rare earths in supporting strategic industries and the energy transition.
During the conference, REEsilience was presented by Neda Bahremandi Tolou from REIA as one of five EU projetcs. In addition, REEsilience representative Laura Grau from Pforzheim University also had the chance to participate in a panel discussion on building the workforce rare earths need and talent shortage within the field. This provided an opportunity to share the project’s progress and exchange views with industry, research and policy stakeholders on the future of the European rare earth value chain and the importance of strengthening Europe’s capabilities in this area.
