Sustainable Critical Raw Materials for the European Union – CRMs4EU – brings together projects across exploration, mining, recycling, and substitution, supporting Europe’s climate goals and industrial competitiveness. Projects in the cluster include PASSENGER, SALEMA, DIGIECOQUARRY, REEsilience, NEW-RE, INSPIREE, RESILEX, REEPRODUCE, HARMONY, MAGELLAN, GREENE, SCIMIN, PERMANET, ROTATE, BEETHOVEN, and MagNEO. It is a collaborative initiative aimed at building sustainable and resilient CRM supply chains and addressing challenges in securing access to critical raw materials (CRMs), which is a growing priority.
As a member of the cluster, REEsilience is also focused on strengthening the availability of rare earth elements which are crucial when it comes to clean energy, mobility, and digital technologies.
With the cluster’s new logo, the core values shared by all members are being reflected:
Industrial innovation, circularity, and sustainability
A focus on CRMs’ natural origins and their essential role in the green transition
A joint commitment to strengthening the EU’s strategic autonomy
Through this collaboration, REEsilience as well as the other projects who are members of the cluster are sharing knowledge and technical resources, while also putting an emphasis on coordinating for greater collective impact and supporting the implementation of the EU Critical Raw Materials Act.
